Uber boss gives up on Trump

Bows to staff requests

Uber’s Travis Kalanick has bowed to his staff requests and left President Donald (Prince of Orange’s) Trump’s advisory council.

Kalanick was pasted by his own staff and customers for agreeing to work closely with the Trump administration, and supporting the White House’s recent travel ban.

A memo from Kalanick admitted that his association with the advisory council and Trump's business advisory council was making it look like Uber’s staff supported the ban against refugees and travel from seven Muslim countries where Trump did not have investments.

Kalanick admits that joining the group is proving to be liability, mostly as it is him blessing Trump and his agenda.

Tech company leaders have become more vocal in expressing opposition to the move, which many consider ill-conceived and wrong-headed. Their recent outspokenness against Trump’s actions contrast with initial efforts to cooperate.

Other tech leaders are expected to quit the council too including SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk who is also seeing his PR image as failing.
