The new Intel XeSS 1.3 supports Intel Arc Alchemist GPUs as well as Intel Arc iGPUs in Core Ultra Meteor Lake CPUs. According to Intel, the new update adds several improvements to the upscaler, leading to both better performance and image quality. In addition, Intel has updated the resolution scale for each preset, improving performance, as well as introducing a whole new Ultra Performance preset that was not previously available.

Thanks to updated AI models, and additional pre-training, the updated upscaler now should offer better image quality with better AA, less ghosting, and improved temporal stability. As you can see in the table below, Intel completely reworked the resolution scale, with the new Ultra Performance preset using a 3.0x resolution scale.

Intel has released the XeSS 1.3 SDK on GitHub so we expect developers to start implementing it in some games.
