Sony is apparently going to dabble into the tablet market with the release of their first tablet offering. The Android 3.0 powered tablet will be PlayStation Certified offering which means that it will be able to take advantage of all of those PlayStation releases for the Android PlayStation Certified devices.
While the release date isn’t known, it is suspected that it will make an appearance before the end of the summer according to sources. The problem is that we don’t know exactly yet where Sony is planning to release this new tablet. Our source suggest that it will arrive in US before the end of the year and a soft launch in Japan and the end of the summer is the likely plan.
It is unknown what Sony’s exact plan will be or what kind of a price point they are looking to come in at. We do know that Sony is planning a lot more effort behind the PlayStation Certified program and devices going forward and is looking for big progress yet this year.
