Xiaomi has pretty much confirmed the date and the location for the official launch of its new Mi Mix 2s smartphone in an official teaser over at China's Weibo. The teaser puts the date, March 27th, and an outline of the phone, together with the location of the event, Shanghai, China.
While the outline of the phone in the official teaser does not reveal a lot, a leak of an alleged hands-on video, posted by Slashleaks.com, shows a small top corner notch for the front camera, which will differentiate the Mi Mix 2s from a plethora of new smartphones that will come with an iPhone X-style center notch.
Earlier leaks showed that the phone won't have a thick bottom bezel as its predecessors and that it won't come with an under-screen fingerprint sensor, but rather a standard one placed on the back of the phone. With the bottom bezel gone, Mi Mix 2s will obviously use on-screen buttons or gestures, or probably give a choice, since Xiaomi can tweak the MIUI in any way.
Specification wise, earlier leaks suggest that Xiaomi's upcoming Mi Mix 2s smartphone could end up with a 6.01-inch OLED screen and Sony's IMX363 camera sensor, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 SoC with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and a beefy 4,400mAh battery. We already had a chance to see the Antutu score of 273741, which suggest that Xiaomi did a lot of optimizations and pulled the last bit of performance from the Snapdragon 845 SoC.
Xiaomi's Mi Mix lineup has been known for its fresh design and prototype features so hopefully, the Mi Mix 2s won't be an exception either and the company might have a surprise or two up its sleeve.
