OLED market share increases to 40 percent this year

Organic light emitting diode panels in the smartphone market are expected to surpass LCD panels by 2018, according to LG Display senior executives during a keynote speech at Finetech Japan 2017 last week.

Heading to South Korea

LG Display has said that it is writing a $395.99 million cheque to build production capacity for flexible OLED displays and lighting panels.

Competition hotting up

While Samsung and LG Display are into volume production of flexible AMOLED panels it looks like they could be facing competition from China-based panel makers.
