Qualcomm has finally launched what it thinks will be the next milestone in the LTE modem speed – a Gigabit Class LTE Chipset with download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

1Gbps and higher peak rates, starting with 3GPP Release 13

Recently, Qualcomm has published a new corporate presentation detailing its path from 3GPP’s “Release 13” (March 2016) and beyond for LTE networks– also more conveniently known as 4.5G LTE “Advanced Pro” – with a development timeframe between 2016 and 2020.
