We already had a hunch that Intel's 40th anniversary Core i7-8086K could be an impressive overclocker and Roman "Der8auer" Hartung has already delidded it and overclocked it to an impressive 7,243MHz under LN2.

Not worth doing

One of AMD's recently released Ryzen 2000 series CPUs, codename Pinnacle Ridge, has had its top taken off by Der8auer showing that these are still soldered to the IHS and that such a process is simply not worth doing due to small temperature differences.

Large die and still not soldered

A well-known overclocker, Der8auer, has managed to get its hands on Intel's upcoming 12-core Core i9-7920X Skylake-X CPU, which he managed to delid by using his own new Delid-Die-Mate-X delidding tool and showing what is actually underneath that IHS.
