Kioxia CM6 and CD6 series PCIe 4.0 NVMe now available on Supermicro systems

Kioxia and Supermicro have both announced that Kioxia's CM6 and CD6 series PCIe 4.0 NVMe enterprise and data center SDs have been qualified on Supermicro server and storage platforms.

With the big push to PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, and Kioxia leading the way in the enterprise market, the qualification of its CM6 and CD6 series of PCIe 4.0 NVMe enterprise and data center SSDs on platforms from an important company like Supermicro is definitely the big news.

According to details, Kioxia's CM6 and CD6 series SSDs are now fully qualified and compatible with Supermicro's PCIe 4.0-based platforms, including Ultra, WIO, BigTwin®, FatTwin®, SuperBlade®, 1U/2U NVMe all flash arrays, GPU accelerated systems, and Super Workstations.

“While NVMe SSDs are penetrating server platforms at an increased pace, interoperability between the two cannot be taken for granted,” noted Alvaro Toledo, vice president of SSD marketing and product planning at KIOXIA America, Inc. “Our commitment to bringing innovations to our customers includes ensuring that their data storage will work as expected, and we collaborate with suppliers like Supermicro to ensure proper operation and full functionality.”

“Our family of NVMe servers and storage offerings brings transformative capabilities over legacy SAS and SATA interconnects,” said Vik Malyala, senior vice president, Supermicro. “Conducting extensive testing with KIOXIA allows us to deliver a complete solution that our customers can trust.”
