Industry veteran to leave at the end of this year

Scott Herkelman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Graphics Business Unit, has announced his departure from AMD at the end of this year, marking the end of an era and leaving us wondering where he is going next. Scott has been at AMD for the last seven years and launched three generations of RDNA graphics architectures.

Scott Herkelman is an industry veteran and came to AMD from Nvidia, where he worked as a General Manager for Geforce until 2015. After briefly switching to a start-up, he joined AMD back in 2016 as Vice President and General Manager Graphics Business Unit. Back in 2022, he earned his place as Senior Vice President at the company.

Scott is known for his involvement with the community, setting him apart, and we'll miss his announcements and especially hints about upcoming launches.

We are also keen to see where he will go next, as he is truly a PC industry and gaming fan. Scott said his farewells in a brief Twitter post.

As spotted by Videocardz.com, Jack Huynh is now listed as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Graphics Business Unit.
