You get that with the big jobs

Data centre equipment provider Super Micro has downplayed concerns about potential delays in NVIDIA's latest Blackwell AI GPUs.

During the firm's Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Charles Liang assured investors that any delay would have minimal impact on Super Micro, which is ready to roll out new products like H200 cooling.

Super Micro’s earnings call was a hotbed of speculation, with analysts eager to grill the company on how NVIDIA’s supposed delays might hit its bottom line. Liang, however, brushed off the concerns, saying delays are par for the course in the tech world. He noted that NVIDIA might be "pushing out a little bit," but insisted this wouldn’t hinder Super Micro’s operations.

Instead, any delay in NVIDIA’s GPUs would merely shift revenue from one quarter to the next. Super Micro, meanwhile, has designed its cooling solutions with the power-hungry Blackwell chips in mind but is ready to support other products like H200 and H100.

Wells Fargo’s analyst Aaron Rakers cut to the chase, asking if Super Micro would be shipping Blackwell platform solutions by December. Liang’s response was cautious, hinting that significant volumes might not be expected until March next year. He emphasised that Super Micro’s fiscal guidance remains robust, projecting between $26 billion and $30 billion for FY2025.

NVIDIA, for its part, has remained tight-lipped, stating only that demand for its Hopper GPUs is strong and that Blackwell production is on track. The company declined to comment on the delay rumours.
