MSI parades new Prestige laptops with Intel's Panther Lake

Sleek shells, flashy OLED panels and battery life that sounds like a dare.

MSI has wheeled out its next Prestige lineup and stuffed it with Troubled Chipzilla’s coming Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 processors, giving the press in New York a taste of what the firm wants you to ogle in 2026.

MSI and Chipzilla held a joint event in the city, where ETA Prime got close enough to the machines to sniff out key specifications. The site confirmed that the Prestige 2026 models will run on Panther Lake, built on the 18A process, although MSI refused to pin down any specific SKUs. The range will land with various processor and memory mixes, so shoppers will have plenty to sift through.

The biggest shift is the silicon, although MSI has bolted on premium OLED screens with high refresh rates and serious brightness. Those panels are meant to play nicely with multi-frequency display technology, which Panther Lake systems use to stretch battery life. The platform also supports smart power HDR, which reduces power consumption during HDR playback.

Battery bragging saw MSI talk up estimated figures of more than 24 hours. Chipzilla has been muttering that Panther Lake will blend the stamina of Lunar Lake with Arrow Lake’s mobile performance, so the claim sits comfortably in its marketing orbit. MSI hinted that such longevity should suit handhelds like the next MSI Claw, which uses Core Ultra Series 3 chips.

The machines keep a slim figure. The sixteen-inch model is only 13.9mm thick, with thirteen, fourteen and sixteen-inch versions on the way. MSI said the 16-inch model weighs less than 1.6kg, while the smaller models weigh less than 1kg.

MSI and other OEMs are expected to roll out their Panther Lake gear at CES 2026, which should give the show floor something glossy to stare at.
