According to a report over at Digitimes.com, Acer is working on a tablet that will be based on Intel's upcoming Oak Trail platfrom. The device will most likely end up with a 10-inch screen and will be backed by Android 3.0 OS.
Digitimes states that the device is manufactured by Compal Electronics and that it sources were pretty clear in stating that Intel is pushing hard for this market. Intel apparently has been quite aggressive in persuading its partners to go for tablet PCs that will be based on Intel/Android platform as it has a quite good chance to grab a piece of this market.
In addition to Acer, other partners including Lenovo and Asus are rumoured to be on the same path. Acer is also currently evaluation the possibility of going for the Oak Trail based tablet running on MeeGo.
