The news that Peter Molyneux was leaving Lionhead Studios and Microsoft came as quite a shock yesterday to the Xbox faithful. While Molyneux had “mixed emotions” about his departure, it was not long before he let everyone know where he will be landing.

On Molyneux’s Twitter feed he announced that he will be joining 22 Cans as his next venture. The studio was established recently by former Lionhead Chief Technical Officer Tim Rance. Currently we know nothing at all about what 22 Cans is working or what it has planned.

The news isn’t really that shocking considering that he was a co-founder of both Bullfrog and Lionhead Studios. Molyneux has had a tradition of delivering new and unique experiences where ever he has been so we can expect 22 Cans to deliver something unique in the future. Right now we need to give him some time to settle in, but we don’t expect he to be away long before he has something new to talk about.
