Midway was apparently planning a sequel to Chow Yun Fat’s Stranglehold, according to a former Midway developer. The game was to be rebranded as Gun Runner.

The rebranded Gun Runner would have starred Chow Yun Fat’s Tequila character; but this time around he would have been standing alongside none other than Vin Diesel, who made his only real video game appearance in the Midway-developed Wheelman that was released by Ubisoft when Midway fell into serious money trouble.

The rebranded title was to be targeted to appeal to a much wider audience; unfortunately, the game never made it past pre-production, so there is little we actually know about it. Sean Lantis was the VFX lead on the project and talks about it on his Vimeo page.
