G4 kills Attack of the Show and X-Play
No word what the future might hold
The news has also been confirmed by the network, which announced that original new shows would continue between now and the end of the year, with both shows looking back at some of the more memorable moments in a run up to the final shows. Sources also tell us that the staff for the “The Feed” is being let go by Thanksgiving time. While a few staff may be staying on for a couple of weeks past that to finish out the year, it would seem that show is also gone.
As for the network that began life as TechTV, and was later acquired by Comcast and rebranded G4, we don’t know what the future holds. A number of rumors are suggesting that the plan is to reinvent the channel with a new name and new content, but that has yet to be confirmed. We do suspect, however, that the channel’s tilt toward gaming is at an end.
