The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros has finally been confirmed by Nintendo. The highly anticipated brawler will arrive on December 2nd in North America and December 5th in Europe.
The announced release date for the Wii U version comes as 3DS version of Super Smash Bros has alredy been released. The Wii U version will offer a couple of bundles as well. The Wii U + Mario amiibo bundle and the Wii U + GameCube Controller Adapter bundle are the two offerings, but so far Nintendo has not confirmed pricing for either bundle.
Based on the trailers as well as early feedback, the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros is going to be the best version of the game yet. It is difficult to say however if it will provide any sales help to the Wii U console which continues to struggle which we mostly believe is due to a lack of software.
Sources tell us that this could be the last holiday season for Nintendo to put a big push behind the Wii U console as a new console is said to already be in development that will give Nintendo parity and a little more with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If sales improve then Nintendo may hold off on the release of the new console, but without more software support for the Wii U, besides the Nintendo exclusives it continues to be a hard sell.
