Nvidia has shocked the world with its decision to directly compete with its partners. The company plans to launch Nvidia branded cards and sell them directly at Best Buy, but it looks like Europe is still free from such a move. According to Nvidia, at this time Nvidia doesn’t have any plans to launch Nvidia branded cards for European market.
European market is much more segmented and way more complicated than the US market. BestBuy is quite a logical partner as it has shops all around the country and Nvidia branded cards can fill the void since they lost two big names in the last year. BFG is out of the graphics market and Nvidia crossed XFX from its partner list.
It is all now in hands of EVGA, Nvidia’s strongest partner in the US as the Taiwanese motherboard guys were never that serious about graphics.
Europe is still ok with a lot of different partners who do well in some of the countries so everything is pretty much pointing at the fact that Nvidia's competing on an already quite saturated market sounds like a very bad idea.
