Nvidia announced record profits

$1.25 billion up nine percent from last year

Nvidia is doing rather well, has reported a record quarter and its best year ever.

The company has just announced financial results for fourth quarter and financial 2015 and it appears to have had a record financial Q4 2015 revenue of $1.25 billion, up nine percent from $1.14 billion a year earlier. THis beats Nvidia's previous record of $4.68 billion in 2015.

GAAP diluted EPS in Q4 of $0.35, up 40 percent from $0.25 a year earlier. Non-GAAP diluted EPS in Q4 of $0.43, up 34 percent from $0.32 a year earlier.

GAAP earnings per diluted share for fiscal 2015 were $1.12, up 51 percent from $0.74 a year earlier. Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $1.42, up 43 percent from $0.99 a year earlier. Investors got to love that year to year Nvidia increase earnings per share for as much as 40 percent.

Nvidia improved its gross margin to 55.9 per cent, a healthy increase from last years 54.1 per cent it slightly increased its operating expenses from $452 to $468 but the net income grew from $147 in Q4 FY14 to $193 in Q4 FY15 financial forth quarter of 2015.

Jen Hsun Huang president and CEO of Nvidia  said that his company's ,omentum was accelerating in each of its  "market-specialized platforms, driving record revenue in the quarter and full year".

He said that Geforce and SHIELD were working well in the gaming market, GRID was reaching enterprises to virtualise graphics-intensive applications and Tesla was helping the "computer learning revolution" and super computing. Nvidia just introduced DRIVE auto-computing platform and it hopes to become a leading player in automotive compute industry.

Nvidia points out some important events of Q4 2014 including the launch of GeForce GTX 960 GPU, hte new version of VMware virtualizatio suite, VMware Horizon 6, virtualized 3D graphics enabled by NVIDIA GRID vGPU. Nvidia GRID is a big thing for the future and with good internet connection you can access and rent a lot of 3D power owning it.

Tesla is inside of the next generation US Department of Energy's supercomputer. Based on IBM Servers and Tesla GPUs with NVlink high speed GPU interconnect technology, it is expected to deliver at least three-times greater performance than today's most powerful system. Nvidia launched Tesla K80 dual-GPU acceleration for wide range of machine learning, data-analytics and high performance computing applications.
Nvidia introduced Tegra X1 mobile processor with 256-core Mawell arhicture that offers one teraflops of computing power for consoles, tablets and Chromebooks of 2015.

Nvidia launched Nvidia DRIVE a low power computer that goes inside of the car that should move the industry closer to the era of auto-piloted cars and run next-generation infotainment systems.

The company has issued a quidance for its financial Q2 2015 and it expects revenue to be $1.16 billion, plus or minus two percent, GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins are expected to be 56.2 percent and 56.5 percent, respectively, plus or minus 50 basis points. GAAP operating expenses are expected to be approximately $478 million.
