Biostar releases Radeon RX 580 White graphics card

A blast from the past

Biostar has unveiled the new Radeon RX 580 White graphics card, promising smooth 1080p gaming performance for the mid-range market, and while such a graphics card could find its buyers, it is definitely a blast from the past.

Built on a 14nm manufacturing process and based on Polaris 20 GPU, this is definitely a blast from the past as it was released back in 2017. The GPU packs 2,304 Stream Processors, and 32 ROPs, and comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit memory interface, which adds up to 256GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Biostar is using its dual-slot, dual-fan cooler in white for this card. While it supports Radeon FreeSync, you are not going to get the full AMD FSR 3 with Advanced Frame Generation, as AMD only supports AMD FSR 3 with upscaling only on Radeon RX 500 series graphics cards, and recommends it to be used on RX 5000 series and above.

The card also comes with two DisplayPort and one HDMI output and runs on PCIe 3.0 x16 interface. Currently, Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics cards are selling at just under $100 and we are not sure if there is a market for such graphics cards. Then again, the next in line, Radeon RX 5500 XT goes for about $150, Radeon RX 5700 XT is around $200, and Intel's Arc A750 goes for about the same, $200.
