AMD releases Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.9.1 WHQL driver

AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 now part of the driver

AMD has released its latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.9.1 WHQL driver update, bringing support for new games, as well as adding AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2), Anti-Lag 2 Vulkan support, and other updates to the driver. The new driver also fixes several issues in some games and applications.

According to the release notes, the new Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.9.1 WHQL driver update adds game support for Frostpunk 2, God of War Ragnarok, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and The Sims 4 DirectX 11 Update. AMD also added AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 to the driver bringing lower latency and higher performance, fast motion optimization, improved borderless-fullscreen support, expanded API support, and Radeon Chill interoperability. The AFMF 2 is now optimized for more AMD products, including the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors.

AMD released an extensive blog post detailing all the improvements and new features with the AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.

The new update also adds AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 Vulkan support for Counter-Strike 2, Geometric Downscaling for video, expanded AMD Radeon Boost and HYPR-Tune support as well as fixes some issues. The list of fixed issues includes a fix for driver timeout and application crash in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Final Fantasy XVI, as well as issues in Black Myth: Wukong, Ghost of Tsushima: DIRECTOR's CUT, and issues seen with AFMF and AMD Software.
