The new MX200 series will be available in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities and is pretty much identical to the previously unveiled Micron M600 SSD. It will also have the same Dynamic Write Acceleration ffeature which uses SLC caching to improve performance and offer sequential read and write performance of up to 555MB/s and 500MB/s. The 4K random read and write performance is set at up to 100,000 and 87,000 IOPS while endurance write ratings will be different depending on the capacity and range from 80TB on the 250GB up to 320TB on the 1TB, making it one of the best endurance rating consumer SSDs on the market.
The new Crucial MX200 SSD will be available in 2.5-inch, M.2 and mSATA form-factors and should start selling in Q1 with a price set at US $139.99 for 250GB, $249.99 for 500GB, and $469.99 for the 1TB model.
The new Crucial BX100 SSD is a bit of a different story, as this one will only be available in the 2.5-inch form-factor and be the first Crucial SSD to be based on Silicon Motion's SM2246EN controller. While this quad-channel controller is not the best performing one around, it still offers decent performance and should be quite competitively priced. Rated at 545/450 MB/s sequential read and write performance as well as 90k/70k IOPS 4K random read and write performance, the BX100 lineup should be quite a decent mainstream SSD.
The BX100 also has a lower endurance rating of 72TB/day, is also backed by a 3-year warranty and like the MX200 series the BX100 will be available in 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. The BX100 will also have a lower power consumption, thanks to the Silicon Motion controller.
The BX 100 should also be available soon with a price set at US $69.99 for 120GB, $109.99 for for 250GB, $199.99 for 500GB, and $399.99 for the 1TB model.
