Based on eight 16GB DDR4 modules, each featuring Samsung 8Gb high-density ICs, the new G.Skill Ripjaws 4 128GB memory kit works at 2800MHz with CL16-16-16-36 latencies. High capacity 16GB modules aren't anything new and were already available in server memory market for a while, G.Skill is the first to implement such modules in the consumer market and use Samsung's 8Gb ICs.
According to G.Skill, the new Ripjaws 4 128GB memory kit has already been validated on ASUS' X99 Rampage V Extreme motherboard paired up with Intel Haswell-E CPU and running in quad-channel memory mode.
As expected, these same 16GB memory modules will be available in kits of up to eight modules per kit, which means that we will also see some impressive dual-channel kits, and in frequencies ranging from DDR4-2133MHz to DDR4-2800MHz. The modules operate at 1.35V.
Unfortunately, G.Skill did not reveal specific details regarding the price or the availability date, but you can certainly expect a hefty price for the Ripjaws 4 128GB DDR4-2800MHz kit.
