It teased us today by inviting us to get our hands on its flagship smartphone and try it out on the eighth of November.  And we can't resist a tease.

Xiaomi is taking on other brands. The Beijing company makes smartphones, tablets and other devices. This will be one worth watching.

But it won't just be one thing it launches on that day – the firm promises us a “wide range” of “smart connected hardware”.

It's the first time it has launched its products outside what it describes as greater China, but hasn't yet revealed which distributors and resellers are in place.
