Intel plans to launch a 2GHz dual-core Celeron and it intends to do this on the May 11^th. The new CPU is branded as the Celeron Dual-Core E1400 and it works at 2.0GHz, has 512KB cache memory and it operates on an 800MHz FSB. It will sell for US$54, but only to distributors who will buy a huge number of these.

The currently available dual-core Celeron E1200 at 1.6GHz won’t drop in price, at least not on May 11^th, but we are sure Intel will have to drop its original price, as both the 2.0GHz E1400 and the 1.6GHz E1200 will cost the same $54.

This is the only product that Intel plans to launch in May, with the E7200 already being available and it is selling in Europe from about €115.
