Based on Dragon Range, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D features two CCDs with 16 Zen 4 CPU cores, each with 1MB of L2 cache. The 64MB of 3D V-cache is attached to one of the CCDs, adding up to 128MB of L3 cache, or 144MB of total cache (L2+L3), according to AMD. The CPU boosts up to 5.4GHz. As expected, the CPU part is manufactured on a 5nm EUV process while the 3D V-cache is built on 6nm, the same as the I/O part.

The rest of the specifications include dual-channel DDR5 memory support and 28 PCIe Gen5 lanes. The TDP is at 55+W and AMD had a neat slide showing performance improvements at various power envelopes, claiming up to 23 percent faster performance at 40W TDP.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is the world's fastest mobile gaming processor. Being 15 percent faster compared to the 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX, which means it should be faster than Intel's Core i9-13980HX as well.

The first laptop announced by AMD and Asus is the ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D, which should be available on August 22nd.
