While it is not a big launch as we are talking about only two SKUs, it is still quite a feat that AMD is keeping the AM4 socket alive, and that these two can still make a significant impact on the market or even carry a punch against Zen 4 or Zen 5 parts. According to AMD, the platform is quite alive and scores up some good sales in regions like China and Latin America, and it certainly helps that both DDR4 memory prices are lower and AM4 motherboards are much more affordable.

To get to the bottom of things, AMD is launching two SKUs, the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 5900XT, boosting up to 4.8GHz, packing 72MB of cache, and coming with a 105W TDP. With these specifications, the Ryzen 9 5900XT is threading onto the Ryzen 9 5950X territory and should offer pretty much the same performance at a much lower price point. The second one, the Ryzen 7 5800XT, is an 8-core/16-thread SKU with a 4.8GHz maximum boost, 36MB of L2+L3 cache, and the same 105W TDP.

In terms of performance, AMD is aiming at Intel's Core i7-13700K and the Core i5-13600KF SKUs, which is definitely impressive.

The Ryzen 9 5900XT should come with a price set at $360, while the Ryzen 7 5800XT should be priced at around $260. Both will launch in July and both come boxed with an AMD Wraith Prism RGB cooler.
