Of the bug fixes listed for the games above, we particularly noted that random flickering is no longer observed when playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in DirectX 11 mode. Likewise, Batman: Arkam City no longer experiences intermittent system crashes when run in DirectX 11 mode.
In addition to bug fixes, the new WHQL-certified Catalyst 12.2 drivers enable Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing (SSAA) in DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 games, improves upon AMD's EyeFinity multi-monitor technology, enables the ability to move and resize the Windows taskbar via AMD HydraVision and enables the ability to create multiple display profiles with on-the-fly changes. Nevertheless, the new drivers also add support for new members of the Radeon HD 7000 series in Windows Vista and Windows 7, specifically the 79xx Series, 77xx Series, and OEM-only 73xx Series.
Our friends at TweakTown have recently tested AMD's Catalyst 12.2 WHQL drivers with the Radeon HD 7970 3GB card and published a variety of benchmark results which can be found here.
