The Tame Apple Press thinks this means that its favourite company will get MicroLED, but it is also possible that it will end up on rival's tech too.

MicroLED panels will offer significant improvements over OLED. They’re brighter, have a better contrast ratio, and excellent color reproduction. Visibility is better under direct sunlight. MicroLED panels are also more power efficient, thus enabling smartwatches to extend their battery life.

Samsung Display apparently wants to develop the technology by the end of the year with its commercialisation soon after. .
