Computex 2024: Showing off from tomorrow

MSI is set to lift the kimono its new AI and computing platforms featuring the 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors at Computex 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan, from June 4-7.

These platforms are tailored for the expanding cloud-native environments and offer a blend of high performance and efficiency for data centres.

MSI General Manager of Enterprise Platform Solutions Danny Hsu expressed his excitement about the potential of the 4th-generation AMD EPYC processors.

He said: "Our latest server platforms, powered by these processors, offer unparalleled scalability and flexibility. The introduction of CXL technology and DC-MHS architecture takes the performance of data centres to new heights, enabling them to run the most scalable cloud applications with top performance."

The new S2301 CXL memory expansion server is a beast designed to handle heavy data workloads and databases that stay in memory. It's a dual-socket powerhouse, equipped with 4th Gen AMD EPYC CPUs and compatible with upcoming AMD EPYC CPUs. This 2U server adheres to CXL 2.0 standards, boasting 24 DDR5 DIMM slots, two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, and storage bays that can expand memory up to 8TB.

MSI's 4U 4-GPU G4101 is a high-performance workstation that uses GPU acceleration. It has a single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor with liquid cooling, twelve DDR5 RDIMM slots, and four PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for GPUs. It also has twelve 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe/SATA drive bays and features efficient cooling for consistent performance.

The CX271-S4056 is a 2U all-flash platform that can hold two GPUs. It includes a single-socket AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor, two OCP NIC 3.0 mezzanine slots, and up to 24 2.5-inch PCIe 5.0 U.2 NVMe drive bays, enhancing processing speeds and performance for applications like AI inferencing.

MSI also offers two multi-node server platforms for dense cloud and data centre environments. The CD360-S4051-X2 is a 3U 2-node server platform, and the CD260-S4051-X4 is a 2U 4-node server platform. Both are designed for high-performance processors and include various memory, GPUs, and storage slots.

These systems feature a front I/O design based on OCP DC-MHS M-DNO architecture and support the DC-SCM2 Server Management Module with Aspeed AST2600 BMC, providing improved server serviceability and management flexibility.
