Western Digital has rather silently added an 8GB version of its WD Black SN850X SSD, which now sells in both standard and heatsink options for $849 and $899, respectively.

Caught by momomo_us over at Twitter, the WD Black SN850X M.2 NVMe Gen 4 SSD is based on WD's own in-house controller, paired up with KIOXIA 3D TLC NAND flash, peaking at 7,200MB/s and 6,600MB/s for read and write sequential transfer speeds. The 4K random read and write peak at 1.2 million IOPS. It also has an endurance rating of 4,800 TBW, and is backed by a 5-year warranty.

As said, both of these are now listed at several retailers and come as a standard version, model number WDS800T2X0E, and as a PS5-friendly heatsink version, model number WDS800T2XHE.
